A Cup of Tea anyone

Isn't Blogland addictive it is already lunchtime and I have not got anything sorted on my blog yet,  but a cup of tea and homemade scones might do the trick to get me sorted in getting cracking.

I have been busy lately holding classes in my studio and this week I hoped to get underway clearing some backlog of my own projects, however the two munchkins decided to get sick and have been home for two days.  Never mind its been quite nice to not rush in the mornings and be home all day gets you stitching a bit more.

I am on my last Down in the Garden block  YEAH!!  I will post this tomorrow as I hope to have these all sewn (perhaps I might be dreaming perhaps not)  watch this space

Its Queens Birthday weekend here in New Zealand this weekend and I hope to get the boxes in my bedroomed unpacked and have a play Soo exciting  Look how these boxes keep saying open me open me, but I do not want to until I have time to actually play.

I hope to update my blog finally so lets hope all goes well.

Until tomorrow, happy stitching Sharon

My Woo Hoo moment

Do you sometimes have that wooho!! moment  well I did I have my Red Home quilt top complete with borders, I have even bought the backing, not sure how long it will take to get this together but lets hope not too long,  think I might send it to the long arm quilter for tacking together.

Can you believe I was meant to make this quilt,  I even have the same dog as in the book.

Now I am working on the bag in this book and I have done the pin cushion also.

Today the sun is shining and I have started something from my head a sneak peak here

Perhaps a cushion with lovely red French general fabric on the back.  What do you think? Perhaps some lovely thick rick rack in the birch colour?

Then I am inspired to finish a few things.  What first?  Fairyland!Yes a must do the 7 year old is turning 8 so a must do!! Mariners compass!Such fun.  Down in the Garden!(nearly done)Wool Owl! Anni Downs Bag! Baltimore Applique! Will I get these done before I turn 60?  A few years to go yet but look there is more in the cupboard. I tell myself don't start something new until you get two things completed!  Do you forever want to start new things?

Happy Stitching for today

Time out to Stitch

Hi where have I been?

In April I have been in Ashburton at Annies country quilt store taking a class with Australian Tutor Annie Downs, 3 other friends joined me and we had a blast.  Its amazing how a few days away feels like weeks.

Annie showed us 3 new patterns she designed, a clasp change purse, bag, zip change purse.  These new projects are apparently going to be in her new book out next year.

As it was the school holidays we headed to Arrowtown, Central Otago to our wee bach to relax and attend a conference for my husband.  While there the kids and mum and dad did a spot of horse riding, this has been high on the childrens agenda all summer, so I finally got on a horse and quite enjoyed it.  The scenery was beautiful.

Then we headed to Dunedin Otago to drop off University daughter and to have some shopping and cultural events.
Now we are home I don't know where to start, housework or studio, well the studio won today and tomorrow I have a couple of ladies coming to stitch, perhaps Sunday it will be cleaning and unpacking day.  Until next time happy stitching.

PS I have worked on the Red Home its coming along nicely and also the Down in the Garden, Just delicious, pity I didn't get in my actual garden as much
