Autumn leaves and sunshine

Hello bloggers, today we headed into the Arrowtown autumn festival a cold but sunny morning. It's lovely I have all the family home and we are all together today, just lovely. I am sure there are record numbers here today more than we have seen in the past few years.
A coffee and a famous sticky bun at provisions , my regular visit everytime I come here
The markets on the village green, entertainment, catching up on friends
A nice way to spend a day.

If your ever visiting Arrowtown do call in to the local patchwork shop "the stitching post" lovely friendly owners.

Until next visit happy stitching

Punch frenzy

Hello, welcome to sunday on my blog,  I have recently discovered via another blog love to stitch a new tool for those of you that just love paper piecing but find the task of cutting papers or purchasing bulk papers getting costly.

Fiskars have bought out a new punch for hexagons...  YES hexagons... here it is

One size is Xtra Large and that punches templates 1"
The Other is Large and that punches 3/4"

I save those subscription inserts in the magazines and I was going to have to mark them all and cut them, but haha now I have these punches and they will do the job for me...  thank you for the info on your blog Raewyn Love to Stitch

Something new that I haven't done for years, but just felt I needed something relaxing for winter...
some crochet..  its fun as the colours are lovely and bright.  Go on over to a blog by Hannah Davis and see her pattern there..

An industrious Monday....

Even though I had an interrupted night with a sick child, I have amazed myself with being so industrious today with housework and stitching...  Must be so tired I don't know what I am doing LOL

I am making large circles to put on my Dresden quilt,  so that can be a finish and I can get industrious with some quilting, (scary stuff quilting)  you just have to get on with it and have fun.

I would also like to show you bloggers out there my favourite notion at the moment....  Clover Clips

These are great for holding the binding in place while you handstitch, no pins... even better as the pins get in the way of the cotton...

I have finally got the binding on the Fairyland Quilt and its on the bed, DD No 3 just loves this..

I also got some blocks cut and marked ready for stitching "Tis the season" I think this will be a quick stitch small designs and if I sew up the strips as I go then putting together should be a breeze.

Happy Stitching thanks for visiting
